It’s going to be a great weekend to get down to the French Quarter. Three festivals will be held near the French Market and the Old U.S. Mint. At the Creole Tomato Festival, you’ll be able to shop for arts and crafts and sample tomato dishes and celebrate the vegetable that makes Louisiana cuisine so delicious. Over on the lawn of the Mint, you can two-step at the Louisiana Cajun Zydeco Festival to such groups as Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers, Lost Bayou Ramblers and Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys. And if you want to enjoy some seafood while you still can, grab a bite to eat at the Louisiana Seafood Festival where you can catch cooking demonstrations and sample such things as crab cakes (Oceana Restaurant), shrimp and grits (Saltwater Grill), crawfish crepes (Bourbon Orleans) and truffled seafood salad (Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House).
