Special discounted tickets to La Fete Cultural on 8/25

Readers of New Orleans on the Cheap are being offered a special discounted rate on tickets to La Fete Cultural on 8/25. Call the Contemporary Arts Center box office at (504) 528-3800 to order the tickets and mention the code word “CHEAP25.” You’ll get your tickets for only $25, saving $10 off the full price of $35.
La Fete Cultural is “A Celebration of Culture” that supports the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation’s mission to address the cultural challenges that workers face daily and the increasing challenges resulting from the oil spill. The night will start with a patron party at 6 p.m. with live entertainment by the Shannon Pwell Trio. Celebrity guests Michael Cerveris (from Fox’s “Fringe”) and Faith Ford will also be in attendance. There will also be a live and silent auction.
The full concert will run from 7:30-11 p.m. and will feature performances by Tab Benoit & the Swampland Jam feat. Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. Other performers will include Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and the Stooges Brass Band.
