<p>As one of the most beautiful light displays in the country, it attracts over 100,000 visitors every year and features century-old oak trees adorned in thousands of lights.</p>
<p>There are also a number of exhibits and attractions including a 20-minute Laser Light Show, a &#8217;50s Retro Christmas exhibit,  a Dripping Snow exhibit and the multimedia Cajun Night Before Christmas which puts a local twist on the holiday classic.</p>
<p>The walking tour through the Botanical Gardens features a children&#8217;s theme park with rides, live entertainment and great food. Admission is $7 and children under three get in free.</p>

<p>There is also great music on three stages. Some of this year&#8217;s performers include: Los Poboycitos, Rebirth Brass Band, Stooges Brass Band, Papa Grows Funk, Revivalists, 101 Runners and Mia Borders.</p>

<p>The event has grown so big that it&#8217;s essentially a mini theme park with an entire English village featuring over 100 shops, 50 shows and dozens of demonstrations every day. There are shows with comedy, drama and action (including real jousting!) and you can meet characters like peasants, merchants, nobles, kings and even Queen Elizabeth. There are also special theme weekends.</p>

<p>They moved the fest to Rivertown in Kenner this year because their temporary clubhouse in Metairie was not big enough to host the event. The good thing is that there will be a lot of space this year to accommodate the growing crowd.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find anything and everything German at Oktoberfest including music, food, beer and souvenirs. There is a list of over 23 different beers, 12 of which are German.</p>
<p>Many people come here if just for the authentic German food. Among other things the menu includes: Sauerkraut, red cabbage, beef goulash, bratwurst, knockwurst, weisswurst, pork schnitzel, apple strudel, pretzels and more.</p>
<p>There will also be live music by German bands including the Brats, Prost! and Dixie Hofkappelle.</p>
<p>Admission is $6 and free for children under 12 and active military</p>

<p>Some of this year&#8217;s performers include: Galactic, Grand Funk Railroad, Sara Evans, Dash Rip Rock, Molly Hatchet, New Orleans Bingo Show, Cowboy Mouth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kyle Turley Band, Supagroup and many more.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find seven music stages, a massive food court, a German Beer Garden, Italian village, arts and crafts, carnival rides and games and much more.</p>
<p>You can buy discounted tickets online for $12.50. Kids ages 12 and under are FREE.</p>
<p>Admission at the gate is $15 or $40 for a weekend pass.</p>
